   Hi Sarkezi YU7AM

Hope all is well with you and yours. I don't know if you are subscriber of the RDJ (RTTY Digital Journal) or not ! I will try to tell you something about us before I ask a favor of you.

In the last year the RDJ (RTTY Digital Journal) have tried several new things to see if it would click with the readers. In doing this I wrote a sort column on I2EOW and their efforts in CQ/RJWW RTTY Contest. (January Issue Page-17) Much to my surprise, our Editor said there were lots of favorable correpondence to a 'contesters type' story and I should continue, with what the Editor calls a stand alone article.

Recently the RDJ (RTTY Digital Journal) was sold to the newly formed ADRS (American Digital Radio Society). The ADRS is devoted antirely to Digital Type communications, this includes digital contesting. So from now on the RDJ will be refered toas the D.J. (Digital Journal.)

The biggest problem any Editor has is resource. Where does the information subscribers would like to read about come from? When it pertains to contesting, most all information can or should come from other contesters.

Now to the big question. Is there anyway I could beg, borrow or steal a picture or two of you and your station.

' Pictures of & Information about : '

1. Towers & Antennas - I don't know of a single contester or DXer that doesn't love to read about antennas & towers. Tell me the number of towers, at what heights they are. If you have stacks, what kind of antennas, distance between stacks. Any special antenna switching arrangements you may have, would be good.

2. Radio's & Amplifiers - Example: TS-930 & Alpha - 77DX. Do you use two radios at samteime?, cqing on one then the other on different bands?

3. Station - (I belive you do Single Op. A picture of you in your radio room would be nice. Another question, have you ever done Multi/Single from your station? If you have tell me about it, or them. Send pictures of your station with operaters please add their nname and calls.

4. Contests - Your 'favorite' Contests. Your likes and dislikes, things you would like to see changed. Any or all digital contest. What contests have you won, Placing 1st thru 10th. Any all Single/Op, & Multi/Single contest you have participated in, and calls used in these contest. Trips to Islands for contests, etc. ' Big victories ', ' Funny Stories, ir things that have happened during contests.'

5. Software - What kind of software do you use in digital contests.

6. Computer 7 TNC - Exapmle: 386-33 & PK-232, also tell if you use a scope or just the LED bars, any modifications you may have done to any and all equipment.

7. Tips, Tricks & Techniques - that you would be willing to share.

8. Bands - What are your favorite bands, what would be the best time and your favorite frequency's to work you on 40 & 80 Mtrs. True contesters already know this, but your mults and points people may not. (This subject is one that comes up all the time at conventions.

Most of the time it is very hard for anyone to write about themselves it's kind of like "kissing your sister" it just doesn't feel roght. Or it makes you feel like your tooting your own horn. ' so to speek.' (well let me assure you, know one will see the information you send me except me and I'm asking for the information so I can do a column about you and your station.)

If at all possible please send some pictures. We would like to see more DX stations included in the contest colum of the D.J. as often as possible.

Please advise if your not a Digital Journal subscriber, I'll see that you get a copy when your article and pictures are used. With great hopes of a future subscriber.

We have started a High/Claimed Score column, so we all can have a better idea of how we finished on a world wide scale without the long delay of the actual scores.

Please spread the word on your local packet & DX clusters. After each contest, go to 14088 or 7088 to give scores. Jay WS7I will be on 14088 and I will be on 7088 after all 'Major' RTTY contests. (Major RTTY contests are: Roundup, WPX, Bartg, Sartg, CQ/RJWW, JARTS, WAE) Afterwords, all scores will be listed on Internet and Packet BBS's world wide and in the Digital Journal. (Please join us after each major contest.)

I hope to hear from you soon.
